Florida Tech chemical engineering emphasizes teamwork in education. With our many years of experience, we have found that the ability to work in a team is essential to your success in any real-world engineering environment. While here, students work together with graduate students, professors, and each other to tackle the problems of today and face the challenges of tomorrow. It is the foundation of our education philosophy, and gives our students a competitive edge over other graduates.

Our students participate in a wide range of career enhancing activities including:
- Hands-on engineering projects and labs.
- National and regional engineering competitions.
- A two-semester senior plant design team project.
- A number of detailed equipment design team projects.
- Research projects for solutions to real-world problems.
- Internships and co-ops with local companies and organizations that Florida Tech shares excellent relationships with, such as:
- NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC)
- Harris Corporation's Environmental Health and Safety Department
- Boeing North America
- Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC)
- NASA's Environmental/Propellants Office (KSC)
- Florida Institute of Phosphate Research (FIPR)
A Variety of Degree Options
The chemical engineering program at Florida Tech is a diverse program dedicated to acquainting students with all areas of chemical engineering, and preparing them for the broad spectrum of chemical engineering careers. The department offers a variety of degree options and emphasizes programs in both materials science and engineering and environmental engineering. Above and beyond classes, independent study and involvement in research is encouraged for all interested students. Some of the degree options include:
